Hello Readers,
Welcome to day 22 of my NaPoWriMo writing challenge.
Todays poem is called Living For The Night.
Too much fun to last one night,
I wish it could go on for more than a day,
Never changing to daylight,
Like time in the land of the fae,
Barely recognisable and zombiefied,
In this night I wish to stay,
Eyes peeled back, yet energetic inside,
Living for the night and not the day,
Somehow still full of life,
Alcohol sugars bring a rush,
My throat feels as if cut by a knife,
Falling silent to a hush,
Not caring, lost in the night before,
My brain's dissolved into mush,
Exhausted, collapsing onto the floor,
Forcing myself into resistance,
The curtains unveil a bright streak,
Back to my daylight existence,
Awaiting the nightlife of next week.
Thanks for reading,
Louise Lake.
