Napowrimo 2018 Day 13

Hello Readers,

Welcome to day 13 of national poetry writing month. As it's Friday 13th today,  I have written a dark fantasy poem. Today's poem is ...

The Night Master

You follow me like voices in the dark,
Waiting on each and every corner,
A mysterious presence of bizarre,
Melancholy just like a mourner,
You say there's a link between our souls,
In ways that I don't understand,
Forcing minions to watch over me,
Constantly reaching for my hand,
I know you'll never let me be,
My mistake was selling my soul to you,
I've begged you to set me free,
Now I don't know what else to do,
You're in everything I see and touch,
Injecting fear into my heart,
Your darkness is far too much,
You won't let my soul depart,
Long ago my body died,
I thought this was the afterlife,
Out of selfishness you lied,
Now I'm to be your wife,
I never feared death's hold,
Until it became my disaster,
The day you stole my soul,
Wicked Night Master.

Thanks for reading,
Louise.
