Hello Readers,

It's that time of year again, national poetry writing month has arrived! I hope you enjoy reading my poem for day one.

One Way Ticket

The world does fly,
In a blur of colour,
Beneath the sky,
The train glides by,
What will I see?
On this one way journey,
I'm filled with glee,
Relaxed and free,
What does await?
Upon the other side,
To seal my fate,
I cannot wait,
Where will I go?
Are there people I know?
Will the lights glow?
Or be hollow?
Who truly knows,
Where this train will depart,
Or if it glows,
Only he knows,
But I can hope,
I'll climb up heaven's hill,
Hiking the slope,
I will not mope,
In silent detest,
Because now I am free,
Of life's learned tests,
As I depart,
To a travellers rest.

Thanks for reading,
Louise.
