NaPoWriMo Day 19

Hello Readers,

Welcome to day 19 of my NaPoWriMo writing challenge.

Todays poem is called Love Thy Neighbour.

They say we are a diverse nation,
Yet some still discriminate sexual orientation,
Attempting to settle an outdated score,
Just like many have before,
Do we all have equality?
To be who we want to be,
For those who live to hate,
Live to love,
It's not too late,
Discrimination by the colour of skin,
Tell me why?
When we're all kin,
A world without colour,
Would be far duller,
Disrespecting cultures,
And social vultures,
Knawing,
Tearing people apart,
Do you not have a heart?
We are all different,
And shouldn't be bullied,
For being diverse,
Each a unique child,
Of this universe,
Forget all those,
Who oppose,
And rise above,
Spread diversity,
Equality,
And above all love,
We're human,
We all have a right,
To live,
And love,
Instead of fight,
Love thy neighbour,
Whoever they be,
And be the change,
You wish to see.

Thanks for reading,
Louise Lake.
